Rocky Horror Wedding Styled Shoot | The Abbey Orlando

Every once in a while I get asked to do a styled shoot that really, truly excites me and gives me the opportunity to do something different and fun. This was one of those deliriously delightful opportunities. When Michele Butler (of Michele Butler Events) asked me to come on board for this Rocky Horror Wedding shoot, I just couldn’t say no.

Working with an inspriational team of vendors, I wanted to do something unique that would reflect the vintage, cult classic style of the Rocky Horror film itself, so I dug deep — literally, into the back of my equipment closet for this sweet set of vintage Nikon metal prime lenses that I save for special occasions. They catch the light in really interesting ways, are a little hazy and soft, and create the most gorgeous bokeh (soft blur in the background). In short, they capture everything in a dreamy haze of nostalgia which is what this film is to me.

Rather then traditional costumes, Creative Consultant Jaimz Dillman chose to have the talented cast of models in bodypaint, executed masterfully by Della Morte, accented by stunning Hair and Makeup by Laura Reynolds.

The other details of design for this whimisical shoot were provided by Lee Forest, Anna Hightower, Michele Butler and a host of Orlando’s top wedding professionals. (full credits below)

Lastly, it was all captured by the extraordinary talent of photographer Oliva Ginn of InStyle Imagery, who coincidentally shot my very first styled shoot. I always love working with Olivia — who is both very talented and creative, and one of the sweetest people to work with.

I really hope you enjoy what we’ve created together, and I look forward to seeing the images from this styled shoot as well (Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait about a year to see them when they are officially published in 2018).

Happy Halloween! XXX
