At the Children with Diabetes Tradeshow, hosted at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, SugarPop Productions transformed a traditional booth into a full-blown Jurassic adventure—designed to stop traffic and spark unforgettable moments.
The Children with Diabetes conference brings together families, healthcare professionals, and leading brands focused on improving life with diabetes. For Dexcom, it was an opportunity to showcase the innovative Dexcom G7 glucose monitoring system in a way that felt engaging, approachable, and memorable for families.
Dexcom was looking for a way to stand out on a busy tradeshow floor while connecting with families in a fun, emotionally engaging way. The challenge was to create an experience that highlighted the Dexcom G7 while being playful, interactive, and appealing to both kids and parents—without feeling overly clinical.
With a stunning Jurassic-themed booth created by Freeman, we leaned into immersive storytelling and themed design, transforming the booth into a Jurassic jungle adventure. By combining live interaction, themed team members, and dynamic video capture, we created an experience that felt more like stepping into a movie than visiting a tradeshow booth.
At the center of the activation was a custom interactive video experience powered by our custom ultra-portable production rig. Guests were “chased” by Dexy, a larger-than-life animatronic T-Rex, while our team—dressed as jungle explorers—guided them through the moment. Each session was transformed into a cinematic branded clip, complete with custom overlays, epic music, and dino sound effects. The result? Every guest became the star of their own adventure film, featuring the Dexcom G7 in a fun, memorable, and highly shareable way.
The activation quickly became one of the most talked-about experiences on the show floor. Attendees were drawn in by curiosity, stayed for the experience, and left with a branded memory they were excited to share. Dexy the T-Rex wasn’t just a spectacle—she became the heartbeat of the booth.
