On the final night of the event, attendees joined forces at the Mix-Tape Rewind Party, a throwback to the 1980’s vibe of Guardians of the Galaxy. Amid the neon lights and 80’s music, guests shed their secret identities and become Super Heroes themselves, with Sugar Pop Production’s one of a kind Super Hero Transformation Lab!
Travelmation is an authorized Disney Vacation Planner and Earmarked Diamond Producer known for selling a record number of Disney Destinations vacations year after year. Their annual retreat is so much more than a conference. Over the last 12 years, it has evolved from a small meet-up into a three-day powerhouse of education, networking, inspiration, and celebration. Agents from across the country gathered to connect with fellow advisors, learn tips and tools to grow their businesses, and experience exclusive Disney adventures together.
Sugar Pop Productions was thrilled to bring multiple interactive activations to travel agents from all over the world.
The theme for this year’s retreat was “Travelmation: Assemble”, and the three-day extravaganza culminated with the Mix-Tape Rewind Party. To help capture the Super Hero excitement, Sugar Pop Productions worked with Travelmation in advance to design custom backdrops to fit the groovy 80’s. The evening kicked off with our roaming team moving through the crowd snapping candid moments and group photos as attendees celebrated together. Guests loved having instant access to their photos, keeping the energy elevated all evening long.
The true centerpiece of the night, however, was our unforgettable Travelmation Superhero Transformation Lab — an immersive AI-powered digital background replacement experience that turned attendees into larger-than-life heroes. Guests stepped up to a transformation kiosk where they were greeted by our Sugar Pop team dressed in full lab coats, ready to recruit the next generation of Travelmation superheroes. The experience immediately pulled guests into the story as they entered the “lab” to customize their heroic identities. Each participant selected their own superhero color combination from a palette of 20+ options. Once their selections were made, they posed for a quick photo—and within moments, the transformation was complete. Ordinary travel advisors became soaring superheroes flying through city skylines, unleashing lightning bolts, striking action poses, and saving the vacation-planning universe in epic cinematic scenes. Every image was uniquely generated, giving each guest their own one-of-a-kind superhero identity.
To complete the experience, every new recruit received their superhero credentials instantly delivered to their communications device (otherwise known as their iPhone!) along with a printed keepsake. The result was an evening of laughter, excitement, and nonstop interaction. Guests crowded around the kiosks to cheer one another on and compared their superhero alter egos throughout the night.
Events like the Travelmation Retreat are exactly why Sugar Pop Productions loves creating immersive activations. We have a strong background in theme parks, experiential media and film script writing, so this was a challenge that we were excited to accept. And through a unique blend of entertainment, technology, and storytelling, for one incredible evening at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Travelmation’s top vacation planners truly became superheroes.
